Oliver Kahn lays into Bayern players following the loss to Augsburg

Oliver Kahn has taken a swipe atinto Bayern Munich players following their fourth game without a win. The Bavarians are fifth on the Bundesliga log, five points behind league leaders Union Berlin.

Things have not been smooth for Bayern Munich this season. Under Julian Nagelsmann, the club has struggled to find the form of last season. The Bavarians are currently outside the top four in the Bundesliga, following another defeat at the weekend. Despite a 100% record in the Champions League, including the win over Barcelona, things aren’t as they should be at the club.

The Bavarians are fifth on the log, with one loss from seven matches. Goals have not been a problem for the defending champions, but on Saturday, they failed to score in a Bundesliga match for the first time in a long while. They have also drawn three games this term, including a 2-2 draw with Stuttgart last week.

There are worrying signs that the Bavarians will not win any title this season despite the investments made on the team. Bayern have struggled to replicate last season’s form. CEO Oliver Kahn has blamed the players for the current situation.

Oliver Kahn slams Bayern players

With ten Bundesliga tiles in a row, Bayern Munich remain unmatched by any club in the top five leagues in Europe. Despite their domineering run, the defending champions have started the season slowly, and it has the top brass worried.

On Saturday, Bayern Munich were beaten 1-0 by Augsburg to compound their woes. It comes after three draws with VfB Stuttgart, Union Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach. The results highlight the problems at the club, with the top brass mulling solutions to their present predicament.

The results have seen Bayern drop to fifth on the log behind Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin, SC Freiburg and Hoffenheim. The current position of the champions in the Bundesliga is at variance with their dominance in the Champions League, where they have won the opening two matches.

Oliver Kahn has accused the players of treating the Bundesliga lightly and has put his support behind the manager. He told Sport1 of his conviction of Julian.

Concern by the Bayern top brass

Oliver Kahn claims everyone at the club is concerned, especially manager Julian Nagelsmann. In a statement to Sport1, Kahn said Julian is concerned, as is everyone at the club. The club is in a bad mood, and the blame is on some players. According to Kahn, some players seem to think the Bundesliga is secondary and unacceptable.

Following the defeat to Augsburg on Saturday, Nagelsmann said they were laissez-faire in the last third.

The Bayern boss said they think about everything in training. The situation is worrisome, with Nagelsmann aiming to fix it immediately. The international break should afford the Bundesliga champions time to critically assess the situation and proffer answers.

The sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic added his voice to the growing concern at the club. Salihamidzic said that after four games without a win and three points from a possible twelve that he is a little worried. He surmised by saying that with the way they were currently playing, there is no way they could win the league.

Bayern Munich will be back in action on September 30 when they host Bayer Leverkusen.
