Wesley Fofana hands in a transfer request after agreeing personal terms with Chelsea

Wesley Fofana has put Leicester City on the spot as he hands in a transfer request. The 21-year-old is believed to have agreed on terms with the Blues.

With the season two weeks in, Chelsea have remained relentless in their attempts to boost their squad. The west London club have several targets in their sights. The Foxes can barely wait for the transfer market to close. They have only made one signing this summer. Brendan Rodgers signed Alex Smithies from Cardiff City as a replacement for Kasper Schmeichel, who joined Nice this summer. Youri Tielemans and James Maddison are other Leicester players that have attracted interest from other clubs.

Fofana was bought as a replacement for Harry Maguire, and should the deal go through, the package Chelsea has for him would make him the most expensive defender of all time. Maguire is currently the most expensive defender.
