Liverpool deny ending Arthur Melo’s loan deal in January

With the situation at Anfield not encouraging, the rumour mill is already agog with suggestions that Liverpool are keen on sending the Brazilian back to Turin in the winter. There are many reasons for the reluctance to keep Melo at the club beyond January. Liverpool have refuted the reports.

Liverpool signed the Brazilian midfielder on a season-long loan from the Bianconeri on the deadline day of the transfer window. The late move for Melo was due to an injury plague that hit the club’s midfield. Klopp has insisted on keeping to the terms of the loan deal, which means having Melo at Anfield till the end of the season.

The lack of football for Melo has not made Klopp think of sending him back to Italy in January. Arthur has only made one appearance this term for the Reds. He was a substitute for Liverpool in the 4-1 Champions League loss to Napoli.
